In
three earlier demos Peter Kalmström, CEO and Systems Designer
of kalmstrom.com Business Solutions, has showed different
options to add a picture to a SharePoint wiki page using
the Picture button in the ribbon.
In the demo below Peter shows a fourth way to add a picture.
This time he uses the Image Viewer Web Part. Nowadays it
is not commonly used, but in SharePoint versions before
2010 it was the only way to add a picture to a SharePoint
page. This method can be used for both wiki and web part
pages.
Click on Edit on the top right of the page. The
page will open in Edit mode.
Place the mouse cursor where you want to add a picture.
Open the INSERT tab and Click on Web Part.
Under Media and Content, select Image Viewer.
Click on Add and go to the web part tool pin.
Expand the web part tool pin accordion and click
on Edit Web Part.
Type or paste the image URL in the Image Link field.
Do the necessary settings.
Click OK, and then save the changes to the page
by clicking on the Save button.
The picture will be displayed on the page.
In the demo Peter also shows how to:
Copy a picture URL from a SharePoint page.
Define the appearance of the picture.
In the next article, we will have a look at another classic
web part that is good for images: the
Picture Library Slideshow.
