Upgrade for Standard Subscribers

To upgrade the sandboxed solution manually, deactivate and remove Kanban Task Manager in the Solutions gallery of all sites where it is used. Also remove any Kanban Task Manager files in the Site Assets library.

Then you can upload the new version of Kanban Task Manager to the Solutions gallery in each site and activate it as described below. Register the new installations with the key you have received from kalmstrom.com.

If you want to evaluate Kanban Task Manager, you are welcome to try it for 30 days, but then you must start a subscription to continue using the product.

Installation

Except for the necessary script permission in SharePoint Online, see below, the installation steps are the same for all SharePoint editions.

Make sure that you have a Site Assets library in the site where Kanban Task Manager should be installed. If not, enable one of the site features that include a Site Assets library, for example the Wiki Page Home Page feature. (Doing this will not change your homepage.)
  1. Download the Kanban Task Manager WSP file to your computer.
  2. If the site has subsites, make sure that you are on the root site of the site collection. Open the Site settings and click on 'Solutions' under the Web Designer Galleries heading.
  3. Upload the WSP file you downloaded.
  4. Activate the WSP file to make Kanban Task Manager available for the site and any subsites.
  5. In the Site settings of each site where you want to use Kanban Task Manager, click on 'Manage site features' under Site Actions.
  6. Find Kanban Task Manager in the list of site features and click on the 'Activate' button.
When you have activated the Kanban Task Manager feature in a site, there will be a new Kanban Task Manager link in the Site settings. Click on that link to get started!

When Kanban Task Manager is activated in a site, all Tasks lists in that site get a Kanban Task Manager logo on top. Click on the logo to reach the kanban board. Check the checkbox next to the logo, if you want to show Kanban Task Manager by default.

SharePoint on-premises: If you get problems with the activation, please make sure that the sandboxed code service is running on the SharePoint server.


SharePoint Online: Kanban Task Manager can be installed in modern as well as classic sites, but custom scripts must be allowed during installation and upgrade. This is done in the SharePoint Admin center >Active sites >the sites Details pane >Settings by a Global or SharePoint administrator.
