Welcome
to install the PDF Creator SPFX edition, also called
client side extension. It can be added to all sites when
enabled (default), or just be added to the tenant and then
installed in each site by Add an app >From your organizaton.
There are two ways to get the PDF Creator SPFX edition.
Both options require access to the tenant's App catalog:
Download the SPPKG file below and upload it to the
App catalog. It will give you the modern SPFX extension.
With this method, you are guaranteed to get the latest
published version, which is currently 1.0.9.0.
In any SharePoint Online site, use the 'Add an app'
command to reach the SharePoint Store. Check 'Extension'
under Solution type, and PDF Creator should be
visible among the top hits. If not, you can search for
PDF Creator. Click on 'Add to Apps site' to install
PDF Creator in the App catalog.
Unfortunately, updates are not published immediately
after upload to the SharePoint Store, so if you use
this method, open the tab 'Details & Support', and
make sure that you get the latest version, mentioned
in bold figures above.
Upgrade for Standard Subscribers
To upgrade the SPFX edition, replace the PDF Creator
file in the tenant’s app catalog with the new file and enable
it.
All installations in the tenant will then be upgraded automatically,
but each installation must be registered again with the
key you have received from kalmstrom.com.
Download PDF Creator
The download is a ZIP file. Extract the file and use the
SPPKG file for installation.
E-mail address:
You might need to allow pop-ups for the download to
work.
Evaluator Information
If you want to evaluate PDF Creator, you are welcome
to try the full version for 30 days. After that,
you must start a subscription
to continue using the product. Also refer to the evaluator
information on the general Download
page.
Enable PDF Creator for the tenant
When the file has been added to the App catalog in one of
the ways described above, a right Enable app pane opens.
Select one of the options:
Enable the file for the tenant, so that it can be
added manually to each site via the 'Add an app' command.
Enable the file and add PDF Creator to all
sites in the tenant (default).
Now a new right pane opens. To create PDF files from files
in document libraries, PDF Creator needs to be given
ReadWriteAll Site and File permissions on Microsoft Graph.
The SPI Access only needs to be allowed at first installation.
Click on the 'Go to API Access page' button
Select the pending request and click on the 'Approve'
button above the list of requests.
Confirm the approval in the right pane that opens.
If you don't want to allow API access, click on 'I'll do
it later' instead. PDF Creator will still work in
lists, but not in libraries.
Add to Teams
The
SPFX edition edition of PDF Creator can be added
to a modern SharePoint page that is in turn added to a tab
in a Microsoft Teams channel. The PDF preview cannot be
displayed in Teams, but otherwise PDF Creator will
work in the same way in Teams as it does in SharePoint.
.
Create a new modern page with a one column section
and add a List or Document library web part.
Add an app from a site where PDF Creator is installed
to the web part.
Save and publish the page. Its name will be visible
on the Teams tab.
Copy the page URL.
Add a new tab to the Teams channel.
Select 'Any SharePoint site' and paste the page
link, or open the 'Pages' tab and select the page you
created.
