Download the Calendar Browser SPFX Edition

for Evaluators and Standard Subscribers

Calendar Browser iconWelcome to download a Calendar Browser SPFX edition. This edition comes as an SPPKG file that gives a modern SPFX client side web part. The SPPKG file is uploaded to the App catalog in the farm or tenant and deployed/enabled there.

When that is done, the web part will show up among the web parts in modern as well as classic site pages.

A modern page with the Calendar Browser web part can be added to a Microsoft Teams tab. Calendar Browser will work in the same way in Teams as it does in SharePoint.

There are two ways to get the Calendar Browser SPFX edition. The first option can be used by all supported SharePoint editions, the second only by SharePoint Online. Both options require access to the tenant's or farm's App catalog:
  • Download the SPPKG file below and upload it to the App catalog. With this method, you are guaranteed to get the latest published version, which is currently 3.0.4.2.
  • In any SharePoint Online site, use the 'Add an app' command to reach the SharePoint Store. Check 'Web part' under Solution type, and Calendar Browser should be visible among the top hits. If not, you can search for Calendar Browser. Click on 'Add to Apps site' to install Calendar Browser in the App catalog.

Unfortunately, updates are not published immediately after upload to the SharePoint Store, so if you use this method, open the tab 'Details & Support', and make sure that you get the latest version, mentioned in bold figures above.

Upgrade for Standard Subscribers

To upgrade the SPFX edition, delete the Calendar Browser file in the App catalog, upload the new file and deploy/enable it.

All installations in the tenant or farm will then be upgraded automatically, but each installation must be registered again with the key you have received from kalmstrom.com.

The download is a ZIP file. Extract the file and use the SPPKG file for installation. You might need to allow pop-ups for the download to work.

SharePoint Online

SharePoint 2016 - SE

Microsoft has created the SPFX edition for SharePoint Online, but the kalmstrom.com team has managed to get it to work for SharePoint On-Premises too.

We can however not change the text in Microsoft´s "Deploy" dialog, so it might look confusing for on-premises users. Don't worry, if you use the On-Prem package of the SPFX edition, you will get a Calendar Browser web part that works on all pages in a SharePoint farm.

Add to a page

When the Calendar Browser client side web part has been installed, it will show up among the other web parts when you edit a site page. The same web part works in both modern and classic sites, but in a classic page you might need to make a hard refresh with CTRL+SHIFT+R to see the Calendar Browser overview after publication.

To add Calendar Browser to a tab in a Teams channel, create a new tab in Teams and add a modern page with the Calendar Browser web part to that tab. Refer to demo 5.
