Evaluator Information
If you want to evaluate Pivot Explorer, you are welcome
to try the full version for 30 days. After that,
you must
start a subscription to continue using the product.
The Pivot Explorer sandboxed solution must be activated
on each site where it should be used. Also refer to the
evaluator information on the
general Download
page.
Installation
Except for the necessary script permission in SharePoint
Online, see below, the actual installation steps are the
same for all SharePoint editions.
Make sure that you have a Site Assets library in the site
where Pivot Explorer should be installed. If not,
enable one of the site features that include a Site Assets
library, for example the Wiki Page Home Page feature. (Doing
this will not change your homepage.)
A. Install Pivot Explorer in a site collection
Download the Pivot Explorer WSP file to your
computer.
If the site has subsites, make sure that you are
on the root site of the site collection. Open
the Site settings and click on 'Solutions' under the
Web Designer Galleries heading.
Upload the WSP file you downloaded.
Activate the WSP file. It is now available for all
sites in the site collection.
B. Activate Pivot Explorer for a site
Open the Site settings and click on 'Manage site
features' under Site Actions.
Find Pivot Explorer in the list of site features
and click on the 'Activate' button.
When you have activated Pivot Explorer in a site
all lists in that site will have a new Pivot Explorer
button in the command bar or ribbon.
SharePoint 2013 - SE
If you get problems with the activation, please make sure
that the sandboxed code service is running on the SharePoint
server, refer todemo 8.
SharePoint Online
Pivot Explorer can be installed in modern as well
as classic sites, but custom scripts must be allowed during
installation and upgrade. This is done by a Global or SharePoint
administrator in the SharePoint Admin center >Active
sites >the sites Details pane >Settings.
If you don't see the Pivot Explorer button in the
modern experience, switch to the classic experience and
make sure that the button is visible under the ITEMS tab
in the ribbon. Then switch back to the modern experience
again, and now you should see the button there too.
