Filter and Sort Columns
A SharePoint Online tutorial by Peter Kalmström In the previous SharePoint Online from Scratch article Peter Kalmström, CEO and Systems Designer of kalmstrom.com Business Solutions, showed how to create columns in a SharePoint document library.
In the demo below Peter shows how to sort and filter these columns and how to combine filters.
Peter also describes how the URL to the document library changes with the filtering. As the filter is dynamically added to the URL, you can link directly to a specific filter option.
Column creation, filtering and sorting works in the same way in other SharePoint lists as it does in document libraries. The principle is also the same in Microsoft Excel and Access.
