Meetings, Content Type Hub
A SharePoint Online tutorial by Peter Kalmström In a series of articles Peter Kalmstrom, CEO and Systems Designer of kalmstrom.com Business Solutions, will show a way to use SharePoint to automate taking meeting notes and handling meetings and meeting decisions in general.
In the demo below Peter describes how to reach and use the SharePoint Content Type Hub. When you create and publish content types in the Hub, they become available for the whole tenant, and you don't have to create content types for each site collection. Therefore it is worth the extra trouble of creating content types in the Hub.
Reach the Content Type Hub The Content Type Hub site collection is not visible in the SharePoint admin center. Instead you can reach it from a site. Peter gives the Content Type Hub site collection a specific name and follows it, so that he can find it more easily next time.
The Content Type Hub site collection root site builds on the team site template, but it has one extra unique feature, which is activated by default: the Content Type Syndication Hub.
- Open any root site and go into the Site Settings.
- Click on the Content Type Publishing link in the Site Collection Administration group.
- Click on the Hub link.
When you have created your first content Type in the Hub, the settings page for that content type will have a 'Manage publishing for this hub' link. Click on it to publish the content type, and after a certain delay while it is being published, the new content type will be avaliable to the whole tenancy for search and new lists.
