the previous article
we added a content type for rental agreements to a list and made some other
changes to the list and view settings.
Now, when we have a good list for rental agreements, we can create a template
from it. It will show up among the other SharePoint app templates, and with
such a template it is easy to create new lists for other kinds of rental agreements.
You can of course have all the rental agreements in one list also, but if
you have multiple lists you can set different permissions on them, and users
will not be burdened by many items in one list.
In the demo below Peter Kalmström, CEO and Systems Designer of kalmstrom.com
Business Solutions, shows how to save the rental agreements list he created
in the previous demo as a list template. The same can of course be done with
any kind of list.
Save a list as a template
Open the list and click on the List settings button under the LIST tab.
Click on the link 'Save list as a template' in the Permissions and Management
Enter a file name and a template name and click OK.
Now the template will be saved in the List Templates Gallery. To create a
new list from the template, Add and app and select the template.
next demo we will create a workflow that sets the rental agreements renewal
date to two months before the end date.
