Enhancements:
New Feature: Export to Excel. Can be run from the KBase installation folder or from the Export to Excel button inn Outlook. If run from the installation folder it can also be used for other Outlook folders.
New background and logo in KBase Archive.
New design of the KBase homepage
Bug fixes:
Clicking on the Browse button in the setup made the installer
crash some users.
The Browse button in KBase Archive exe was not working properly, so some users had to paste the path.
Some users were getting errors when they clicked on the Generate button in KBase Archive.
In KBase archive exe a link was showing kalmstrom.nu instead of kalmstrom.com

The file KBaseArchive.exe was
giving an Outlook security prompt. Now it will not
give it if installed with kalmstrom.com products.
Also a runtime error was fixed.

signature

Recently some customers have
complained that the registration ends abruptly due
to a missing scripting encoder version of 5.6 or
above, even though the scripting runtime library, is
installed on the system. In order to remove this
overhead, we have now slightly change the way the
license information is stored for all our products.
We have done away with the scripting encoder
technique and implemented with a custom algorithm.

An old KBase logo and ReadMe-file was replaced with
new ones.
When generating KB web articles from KBase using the
KBaseArchive.exe, you might see mismatch Problem
Category and Problem type in the generated KB article.
This is now fixed!

Web KBase articles are now sorted alphabetically
when listed in Table of Content page (index.htm).

Message about inadequate permission in KBase file
folder is now removed. If the KBase file folder does not
have write permission, no values of the drop down fields
of the KBase form is written to the setting text file.
This will result in empty list in the drop down fields
(problem category and type) when the form is loaded.
In KBaseArchive.exe, a double entry of HTML tag <ul
dynamicoutline> sometimes occured in the index.htm file,
leading to incorrect display of the tree structure of
the problem categories and types. This is fixed with
version 2.1.0.303 and above.

Improvement in OWA: The KBase view was not grouped
earlier, but now it is.

New name, KBase, and no longer a free product. We
feel that the recent improvements justify a registration
fee.

Outlook KBase now supports generating collapsible
outlines of problem categories/types. When generating
web pages images and attachments are kept just as in the
articles.

The default format for Outlook KBase is now RTF, to
improve image quality

Outlook KBase 2.0 has the following improvements and
changes:
A new application is introduced to archive KB
articles to web pages, so that they can be published
as FAQs for products or services. This application
is invoked by clicking the button 'Publish to web
pages' available on the KBase homepage.
In the KBase form, problem type and problem
category fields are now converted to drop-down combo
boxes. Enter a new value or select an existing value
from the list. All available values for problem type
and problem category are saved in a text file
'KBSettings.txt', which is available in the KBase
file folder.
In order to retain the drop-down items for Problem
Type and Problem Category fields, all the values are
written to the KBSettings.txt file. Therefore all
KBase users must have write permission over the
KBase file folder.
The KBase example data tool has been updated to
feed the FAQs from this website into KBase. The tool
directly retrieves all FAQs items and converts them
into KBase articles. Internet connection is required
for this tool to work.
When upgrading to KBase 2.0, you need to upgrade
the KBase Outlook form to use the file
'OKBaseForm.fdm' located in the KBase file folder.
This file is introduced with Kbase 2.0.
To install the form, follow these steps: Right-Click
KBase public folder > Properties > Manage > Forms >
Install > OKBaseForm.fdm

With the new year and the arrival of Microsoft Vista
and Office 2007 all our products had to be upgraded to
be compatible with and take advantage of the new
features. So was also Outlook KBase upgraded, and
at the same time the application was given a nicer
layout.
