Server name: We want to change the server name. How do we do with TimeCard?

Follow this procedure to avoid that the application is looking for the previous server name when upgrading.

1. Copy the TimeCard database.

2. Change the name of the server.

3. Make a fresh installation. When you come to the database selection you have two alternatives, depending on what kind of database you use:




a) for Access

• select to create a new Access database

• now you get a blank TCCommonSetting window. Do NOT enter anything but just close it.

• paste the old database, TimeCard3.mdb, over the newly created one.
  
  

b) for SQL

• Copy the old database back to the server.

• Select the third alternative, and choose the old database.
  

4. Now your old settings should be shown in Common Settings.
