Instructions for upgrade
The person performing the upgrade needs to have
Administrator permissions over the
TimeCard network shared folder.
Save the installation file, TimeCardWorkgroupSetup.exe,
to your computer and then to the
TimeCard root file folder on
your server.
From a client that has access
to the
TimeCard network folder and
where Outlook is closed down, click the file
TimeCardWorkgroupSetup.exe to perform the upgrade.
This will update all existing files and enter newly
introduced files in the selected file folder.
For
reporting directly to Access or SQL
database the upgrade is
automatic. You only have to download
and run the Setup file. For Reporting via
ASP, some manual steps has to be taken,
refer to
instructions for ASP
upgrade.
Automatic client upgrades
When the central workgroup installation has been
upgraded, the
TimeCard clients are upgraded automatically
in silent mode as soon as they are connected to the
file server. After the upgrade Outlook has to be
restarted, so we recommend the users to
close Outlook when they have answered
Yes to upgrade.
For Community Members with locked client machines we
supply an
MSI installer for the client tools.
Upgrade from version 4.2
The first upgrade of the client tools to version 4.3
has to be done manually. With that the clients get
the files needed for automatic upgrades. For manual
client installation, from each client machine, go
into the TimeCard root file
folder on the network drive and run the file
TimeCardClientSetup.exe.
If you have problems downloading an
.exe-file you can try this alternative, which
downloads a .zip-file. When you extract the
.zip-file you will get the .exe-file from the
download above.
