As you are using Outlook 2007, the buttons to close ticket, add to Kb etc. are located in the Ribbon of Outlook 2007, and this functionality is control by the PF HelpDesk addin, not by the background PFHelpdesk.exe. That explains why the drop downs are working in the form, but the buttons to Close, Add to KB and so on are missing in the ribbon. This problem can be due to various reasons:
  1.  Outlook corruption. Please perform 'Office Diagnostics' under Outlook help menu and see if that makes any difference.

  2. The PF HelpDesk addin might not be entirely registered, in which case Outlook does not regard it as an addin. In this case, the typically workaround is to uninstall the PF HelpDesk client tool via 'Programs and features' under Vista's control panel, and re-install again (by running the PFHelpdeskClientTools.exe).

  3. The PF HelpDesk addin might be disabled under Outlook. Please go to Tools > Trust Center > Addins tabs and check if the addin 'Public Folder HelpDesk' is enabled/disabled. If disabled, enabled it.

  4. If the above does not help the PF HelpDesk Client Tools might be corrupt. Please uninstall them via the Control Panel and then reinstall them again. To reinstall, from the client, run the file PFHelpDeskClientTools.exe in the PF HelpDesk file folder on the server.
