Upgrade Public Folder HelpDesk

Public Folder HelpDesk for Outlook - issue tracking and support handling inside MS OutlookWelcome to download the latest version of PF HelpDesk and upgrade your installation.  

The upgrade must be performed by a server Administrator, who also must have owner rights over the selected public folder/mailbox.

Upgrade of a single installation of Public Folder HelpDesk

(For details, and for upgrading a multiple installation, refer to the Manual.)

  1. Save the installation file PFHelpDeskSetup.exe to your computer and then to the PF HelpDesk root file folder on your server.

  2. From a client that has access to the PF HelpDesk network folder, click the file PFHelpDeskSetup.exe to perform the upgrade. This will automatically update all existing files and enter newly introduced files in the selected file folder.
    Outlook should be closed when you perform the upgrade.

  3. If the client tools have been changed since your last upgrade, each client must also upgrade the PF HelpDesk client tools when prompted to do so. We try to avoid updating the client tools as much as possible, though.
V 9 to V 10
  

(if possible, to avoid remaining files from version 9, do the upgrade from the same system as the previous installation was made).
  1. Save the installation file PFHelpDeskSetup.exe to your computer and then to the PF HelpDesk root file folder on your server.

  2. From a client where Outlook is closed, run the newly downloaded Setup file and in the installation type dialog, select 'Upgrade previous version of PF HelpDesk' and click Next.

  3. Specify the file folder of your existing PF HelpDesk installation. Most likely it is on a shared network folder. This will automatically update all existing files and enter newly introduced files in the selected file folder.

  4. Upgrade the PF HelpDesk Client Tools. Each client will be prompted to do so next time PF HelpDesk is started.
The registration key for PF HelpDesk version 9 cannot be used for version 10. If you are a kalmstrom.com Support Customer and want to upgrade to the current version, please contact us, and we will be happy to send you a new registration key promptly!
