Folder homepages can be quite powerful and run with your own permissions. Thus they can of course be dangerous also.

From Outlook 2003 Microsoft has included an option to disable scripts in shared or public folders. By default scripts are allowed in public folders but NOT in shared folders. A shared folder is a folder that another mailbox/user has delegated control over. To allow scripts to be run, these options will have to be checked.

In Outlook 2003, go into Tools >Options >Other >Advanced Options and check the box Allow script in shared folders.

In Outlook 2007, go into Tools > Trust Center > Email Security.

Microsoft also has a KB article about this: http://support.microsoft.com/?id=827311
