HelpDesk OSP can be used in any Outlook folder, also
in a public folder or a shared mailbox.
Procedure:
1. Download the file HelpDeskOSPSetup
in .exe or .zip format.
(2. Extract the .zip file)
3. Click the .exe file to perform the
installation.
Special requirements for HelpDesk for Outlook and SharePoint:
a functioning SharePoint site, version 2 or
higher. HelpDesk OSP helps you get more out of SharePoint
and Outlook, but the application does not help you with the
general configuring of those programs.
.NET Framework 3.5. If you don't have it
installed you can
download it from Microsoft. If a client without .NET Framework 3.5 tries to open the Configure dialogue, a message
window gives this download link.
Outlook should be closed when
HelpDesk OSP is installed.
The application is installed under Program files, and there are no choices to make during the installation.
When the installation is finished there is a new
Configure button in the Outlook Inbox view. When
the configuration is finished, the rest of the
HelpDesk OSP tool bar is shown too.

Settings When you start using HelpDesk OSP you must have a SharePoint site set up and functioning.
It is possible to use the Tasks for
HelpDesk OSP, but we recommend you to create a new Issue tracking list, which a bit more suited for helpdesk tickets.
After the client installation, click the Configure
button in Outlook and add appropriate SharePoint list,
select Outlook folder to monitor and decide if you want
that to be done automatically.
Language is automatically set to the same as
of the operative system.
For now Dutch, English, French, German,
Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and Swedish are supported in HelpDesk for Outlook and SharePoint.
If you select another language you will get mostly English, but we hope to be able to change that
in future versions.
