Logger File: I have been asked to send a logger file to the support team. How do I create such a file?

You can create a logger file for our latest versions only. If you are using an earlier version, please first upgrade to the latest version.
  1. Open the registry editor in your system. (In Windows 8 and 10 type “regedit” in the search box to find the registry editor. In earlier versions you can find it under All Programs.)

  2. A User Account Control dialog will open. Click on Yes.

  3. A Registry Editor dialog will open.
  4. Open the following registry location:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/kalmstrom.nu/[PRODUCT].

  5. Select the kalmstrom.com Solution for which you want to create a logger file.
  6. Right click on the product folder. (For example, I am selecting Folder HelpDesk).
  7. Select New and then String Value.

  8. Name the newly created string value CreateLog.
  9. Right click on CreateLog and select Modify….

  10. An Edit String dialog will open.
  11. Write 1 under the Value data and click OK.

  12. The Logger will start logging events.
  13. Reproduce the issue you are having with your kalmstrom.com Solution.
  14. A log folder has been created in (My) Documents/kalmstrom.com
  15. Zip the folder and send it to the kalmstrom.com support.
  16. Remember to turn off the logger. Open the registry editor again and change the string value from “1” to “0”.
  17. The Logger will turn off.
